As a community of faith, we have been active in sharing Christ’s love since 1887.  We are a church that honors our past and looks with excitement to the future and what God will do in our community and beyond.  We are a vibrant fellowship of Christians in the United Methodist tradition, offering opportunities for worship, study, and service for all ages and stages of life.  In this way, we seek to offer “Jesus for Every Generation.”

We are located in the Heritage District of Royse City, just north of Interstate 30,  about 30 miles east of Dallas and 18 miles west of Greenville.  Our sanctuary and fellowship hall are located at the corner of Main Street (State Highway 66) and Josephine Street.  Our youth room and administrative offices are in the Family Life Center (metal building) across Bell Street.

Although our primary worship services are on Sundays, our church is active in ministry every day of the week.   We invite you to learn more about our commitment to growing in faith and serving others through the ministries listed on our website.  If you have questions or comments, please contact us by phone at the church office or send an email to our staff at the addresses listed on the “STAFF” tab.

We hope to see you Sunday!

God’s blessings,

Rev. Ann Willet
Senior Pastor

During the Lenten season, we are encouraging drawing closer to God through the reading and study of scripture.  Because many of our scripture readings during Lent will come from Luke's gospel this year, some of our church members have expressed an interest in a daily reading that will take us through Luke.  If you have children and youth in your home, this might be a great way to encourage a family time of reading scripture each day.

Follow this schedule from Ash Wednesday until Easter and you will read the Gospel of Luke. On Sundays, you may want to reread text that tugged at you or focus on the passages used in worship.

This third Sunday of Lent we will study together God's message in the wilderness through the prophet Isaiah.  God's people were in exile in Babylon, separated from their homes and the connection to God through the Temple.  Yet even in a time of struggle, God invites them to abundant living.
We often think of abundance as God's promise to make us successful or wealthy.  Indeed, some preachers would try to convince us that those who are living in God's will have the promise of material wealth.  That message is contrary to the life, ministry, and teachings of Christ.  He tells us that the road will sometimes be rocky, and that those who want to achieve greatness will get there by serving.  But Christ also echoes the lesson that Isaiah delievered to God's people: When we seek God, God will give us what we  need.  When we cling to God's promises, God will not forsake the covenant made with us.
As you prepare for worship this week, consider how our church family is seeking God's will and receiving God's abundant mercy.  How might we be even more faithful to God's call to share the love of Christ with all people?

I'll see you Sunday!
Ann
